Rabbit & Tortoise (Slow and steady wins the race)

The sun beat down on the dusty road as the Rabbit, renowned for his speed, stretched lazily. "Anyone for a race?" he scoffed, his voice full of arrogance.

The Tortoise, plodding along, stopped and looked up. "You? Race me? You'd be miles ahead before I even got started!"

The Rabbit chuckled. "Of course, I would! But it would be a waste of my time. Let's make it interesting. I'll give you a head start."

The Tortoise, surprised by the Rabbit's confidence, readily agreed. The Rabbit, certain of victory, allowed the Tortoise a considerable lead. Then, with a burst of speed, he dashed off, disappearing into the distance.

Confident that he had won, the Rabbit decided to take a nap under a shady tree. "I'll catch that slowpoke in no time," he mumbled, drifting off to sleep.

Meanwhile, the Tortoise, steady and determined, plodded along, never stopping. He knew he couldn't compete with the Rabbit's speed, but he also knew he wouldn't give up.

The Rabbit awoke with a start. "Oh dear!" he exclaimed, realizing his mistake. He raced towards the finish line, but it was too late. The Tortoise, having persevered, had already crossed the line.

The Rabbit, humbled and ashamed, learned a valuable lesson that day: Slow and steady wins the race.
